Men’s Basketball falls to Baldwin Wallace on the road

NORTON, Mass. – The No. 20 Connecticut College men’s swimming and diving team cruised to a 185-94 victory over Wheaton College on Friday night at Balfour Natatorium.
The Camels picked up wins in 13 of the 16 events and had a total of nine individual winners on the evening. Matthew Morris (Alexandria, Va.), Cam Bizjak (Willoughby, Ohio) and Ryan Karaca (Schenectady, N.Y.) each supplied a pair of victories to lead the charge.
Conn’s day began with a win in the 400 medley relay thanks to strong swims by Tyler Choedak (Austin, Texas), Patrick Henry (Livonia, Mich.), Justin Finkel (Cheshire, Conn.) and Nicholas Holovacs (Hingham, Mass.). The squad won by more than three seconds with a time of 3:30.02.
The Camels continued the strong start with wins in the next three events. William Moulson (Andover Mass.) bested the field in the 1,000 free (10:18.19), Cooper Voss (Glen Ridge, N.J.) edged Karaca to take the 200 free (1:45.12), and Morris captured the 100 back (52.04) by a comfortable margin.
After Finkel dusted the field in the 200 fly (1:57.41), Holovacs pulled out a win in the 50 free (21.41) by less than a quarter of a second. Morris’s second win came in the 200 back (1:54.47), and Karaca followed suit in the 500 free (4:46.64).
Evan Lyons (Longmeadow, Mass.) and Jack Mattison-Gulotta (Florence, Mass.) added wins in the 200 breast (2:15.21) and 100 fly (52.77), respectively. Bizjak, the lone diver of the meet, posted strong scores in the 1M (315.60) and 3M (291.00) events.
Conn will next host Wesleyan University on Saturday, February 1 at 1:00 p.m.
