Manchester United are ready to negotiate the transfer of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba next summer regardless of what happens with manager Ruben Amorim.
Amorim is under immense pressure after the club’s 3-1 defeat to Brentford in the Premier League. The Red Devils have picked up only seven points from six games and Saturday’s game against Sunderland seems a must-win.
Amidst this, Teamtalk claim that United are still keen on landing the signature of Baleba. They have not changed their stance despite the Cameroonian’s indifferent start this season.
The same outlet claim that Brighton have no plans of selling him on the cheap. They won’t entertain his transfer for a package of less than £100m during next summer’s transfer window.
United don’t believe Baleba is worth the nine-figure sum and they plan to negotiate with the South Coast outfit over the coming months in order to secure a discount on the reported fee.
Baleba agreed personal terms with United earlier this summer. He has already opened the door for a transfer to Old Trafford.
