Jake Paul has employed a pair of circus clowns to tease Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis at the pair’s hyped first press conference – in which he also branded the boxing superstar illiterate, “stupid as f***” and likely requiring an ankle bracelet for their fight.
But the craziest moment?

Hard to beat the face off.
When the difference between this pair, stood opposite one another — and with the tattooed Paul shirtless, and bouncing through various fight poses — looked exactly as you’d expect two rivals separated by a staggering seven weight divisions.
Or put another way, almost 30 kilos.
Only a week after being taken to task by UFC boss Dana White for continually looking to fight smaller men, Paul has confirmed his November 15 bout against Davis will take place at an almost cruiserweight mark of 195 pounds – or 88.5kg.
The agreement represents a huge step up for Davis, a lightweight, who hit the scales for his March outing against Lamont Roach at 61.2kg.
Only once has Tank competed heavier, when he dethroned Mario Barrios of his WBA super lightweight crown in 2021.
Of course, it is the weight difference that makes the fight possible.
And why Paul, who boasts a 12-1 record, can take on a WBA lightweight king whose litany of scalps includes Ryan Garcia, Rolly Romero, Barrios, Isaac Cruz, Yuri Gamboa, Leo Santa Cruz and Frank Martin.
It was also the topic which ignited plenty of drama during Tuesday’s press event, including when Davis was asked exactly how much he expects to weigh come fight night?
“With or without the ankle monitor on,” Jake Paul interjected, making reference to a domestic violence charge levelled earlier this year by his rival’s ex girlfriend, and since dropped.
“That’s corny,” Davis responded. “That’s super corny”.

Then returning to the question, Davis continued: “I don’t know how much I’ll weigh.”
At which point, Paul again mentioned the ankle bracelet.
“That outfit is trash,” Davis now fired back, taking aim this time at the oversized fur coat his opponent was sporting.
“It’s garbage.
“And that hairstyle … anybody who ever rocked a mohawk is a f***ing clown. We all know this.”
But on this one, Paul had come prepared.
“You want to see clowns?” he asked.
“Gervonta you’re the f***ing clown. You’re the f***ing clown buddy.
“Any man who puts his hands on a woman is the clown.”
And it was at this point, when the crowd audibly reacted, that from somewhere backstage a pair of circus clowns appeared with balloon animals, one of which was presented to Davis.
Soon after, Paul also said he would beat Davis, due to him being an “emotional” fighter.
“He’s an emotional fighter who gets upset easily,” he said.
Then as Davis tried to interrupt, he continued: “Bro, you took a knee in your last fight.
“Should’ve got two points taken off.
“You’re always in your head.
“At the end of the day, he thinks his speed is going to make a difference.
“It’s not.
“He has a lot of holes in his defence.”

Late in proceedings, both fighters were also asked to state why they were the face of boxing.
“I ain’t the face of boxing, pal,” Davis said. “I’m just somebody that boxes.”
But as for Paul? What makes him the face of the sport?
“Numbers,” he said.
Elsewhere during the event, Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian confirmed the pair will fight over 10 three-minute rounds.
While Davis is used to fights that stretch 12 championship rounds, Paul’s have traditionally been much shorter — with his showdown against Mike Tyson contested over eight two-minute rounds.
It was also confirmed the fighters will wear 12 ounce gloves.
Fighters like Davis who compete at welterweight or lower usually wear eight-ounce gloves, while Paul has fought almost exclusively with 10-oz gloves.
The exception was against Iron Mike, when both men wore gloves of 14 ounces.
And while Paul’s latest showdown is officially an exhibition bout, MVP have employed three commission-approved judges to score the fight should it go the distance.
