Canadian takes seven seconds off previous mark with solo effort at Dudince 50
Evan Dunfee set a world 35km race walk record at the Dudince 50 on Saturday (March 22) in Slovakia.
The Canadian’s 2:21:40 was seven seconds inside the 2:21:47 set by Masatora Kawano of Japan in October in Takahata.
Dunfee race walked solo from gun to tape in Dudince, Slovakia, with consistent four-minute plus kilometre splits throughout and lapping the entire field of 51.
The 34-year-old won bronze medals in the 50km at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and 2019 World Championships in Doha, plus 10km gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
